For as long as the earth
And the heavens remain
He bears every sorrow
He shares every pain
How it all works
I could never explain
But I’m as sure of these truths
As of my own name

Providence moves
In mysterious ways
Beyond understanding
The Ancient of Days
Lord of the star fields
Hidden He stays
Yet nothing escapes
The light of His gaze

Ere all the earth
And the heavens may pass
Their light will fade
From view at the last
By the light of the One
In the end surpassed
Who set them in place
At the dawn of the past

The earth and the heavens
Perpetually proclaim
The beauty of him
Who first spoke their names
His faithful provision
That ever sustains
All of creation
And all of her frame

Should ever the heavens
And earth pass away
Still ever and always
Forever the same
His love and His grace
And His presence remain
Unfailing, unfading
Unwavering, unchanged
