Fear for my family
Fear for my children
Fear for my health
Fear for my sanity
Fear for my wealth
Fear for my comfort
Fear for my security
Fear of danger
Fear of attack
Fear of the future
Fear for my safety
And fear for yours
Fear of fire
Fear of flood
Fear of my ignorance
And having my ignorance revealed
Fear of what I don’t understand
Fear of the unknown
Fear of the foreigner
Fear of the other
Fear of failure
Fear of being wrong
Fear of embarrassment
Fear of being known
(Really, deeply known)
Fear of being duped
Fear of being fooled
And of being found to be a fool
Fear of change
Fear of hunger
Fear of disease
Fear of disaster
Fear of catastrophe
Fear of shame
Fear of the unfamiliar
Fear of humiliation
Fear of being left out
Fear of being left behind
Fear of financial ruin
Fear of becoming homeless
Fear of becoming dependent
Fear of being a burden
Fear of dementia
Fear of cancer
Fear of famine
Fear of pestilence
Fear of being incapacitated
Fear of being disabled
Fear of distance
Fear of separation
Fear of being unloved
Fear of being alone
Fear of being different
Fear of being shunned
Fear of being on the outside
Fear of missing out
Fear of poverty
Fear of being in need
Fear of violence
Fear of war
Fear of chaos
Fear of being out of control
Fear of anarchy
Fear of calamity
Fear of rejection
Fear of being ostracized
Fear of losing my job
Fear of having no purpose
Fear of living a meaningless life
Fear of being forgotten
Fear of insignificance
Fear of losing face
Fear of injury
Fear of pain
Fear of punishment
Fear of responsibility
Fear of accountability
Fear of desolation
Fear of loss
Fear of being revealed
Fear of being found out
Fear of being outed
Fear of not fitting in
Fear of being lost
Fear of evil
Fear of dying
Fear of suffering

So many core, universal fears. No wonder fear is such a powerful weapon in the hands and mouths of those who seek to manipulate people for purposes of power.

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. We love because he first loved us. — 1 John 4:18–19

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. — Isaiah 41:10

But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. — Isaiah 43:1–2

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? — Psalm 27:1
